The Third Pin Celebration Event.
The First of a new series, Countdown to 100 Years of Magic Series, named Walt Disney's Letterhead was released.
There will be 9 pins in this series, with a limited edition size of 5000 pins each. Retail $8.50.
Dinosaur Gertie was the exclusive event pin. Limited edition of 1000. Retail $8.50.
The third Countdown Series Dangle Pin was released. Limited edtion of 2500. Retail $10.50.
New core pins were released which included;
4 Indiana Jones Poster Pins, Computer Programmer Mickey, Surfing Mickey, Minnie Girl, Minnie Ballerina, Croc and Captain Hook, and Oddball.
A Sid Cahuenga's One-Of-A-Kind Antiques and Curios Pin was also released. Retail $8.50
Artist Randy Noble, who created the Coutdown to Disney's Pin Celebration Dangle Pins
and the Century of Disney Pins Series, was signing pins and visiting with guests.
Martha Widner, the designer of the event exclusive Dinosaur Gertie's Pin, was also available for signing and 'Pin Production' shop talk.
Guests became Production Assistants for the day. Cars were lined up at the gates about 4:00 a.m. By 5:15 a.m. the magenta wristbands to get the event exclusive 'Gertie' pin were gone.
The Pin Production Script was given to guests as they arrived through World Drive Auto Plaza. The Production Script sent you in out to receive a stamp for either answering a trivia question correctly or trading a pin.
Once you had received all of the stamps, the completed Pin Production Script was taken to the Hollywood Junction Pin Station and there you received a complimentary Disney-MGM Studios Credential Pin.
The core pins that were premiered could be framed on your map for $130.00.
